Objectives

The objectives of Bakersfield Garden Club shall be to encourage interest and education in all phases of home gardening and promote better horticultural practices, floral design, civic beauty, and the conservation of natural resources.

Meetings are on the 3rd Saturday of each month and begin at 9:30am at the Church of the Brethren in the Social Hall at 327 "A" Street. MAP

Club meetings open with a short business meeting, followed by a guest speaker; an opportunity drawing of plants and gardening related "Goodies" donated by members. Members also contribute to our tables of refreshments. A tour of a members commercial or public garden concludes our morning.

If you would like to join our club, click on FORMS above to print the Membership Application Form. Simply fill out and bring to the next meeting. Your membership application will be reviewed. We reserve the right to refuse any application.

Associated Club Meetings

African Violet Society meets 3rd Tuesday, at the Veterans Hall, 2101 Ridge Road. at 10AM. Call 387-0263 for further info.

Cactus Society meets 2nd Tuesday, at the Olive Drive Church, Building 6 at 6:30PM

The Garden Project meets 1st Saturday, at the St Lukes off of Mt.Vernon Ave. at 10AM

Rare Fruit Club meets 2nd Saturday, at the Bakersfield Raquet Club, 10:00AM - 12:00PM.

Rose Society meets 3rd Monday, at Calvary Bible on Manor St. at 6:30PM

California Native Plant Society - Kern Chapter meets 3rd Thursday, at Hall Ambulance Community Room at 6:00PM
